Now Im in Mantanita, a small beach town. Lots of people come here to surf. Today for lunch I had a big meal of shrimp cooked in garlic sauce for $3.50. We have a nice view from our balcony. The temperature is warm, but not sweltering. There is a nice breeze going through our balconies.

dan!! these cities are so beautiful. the european flavor, combined with the misty south american atmosphere results in great photos. i am sooooo jealous. ever since thailand i've thought i would like to travel into central/south america and the desire only grows now. cartagena looked practically like you could have been in sevilla!

Yeah, Cartagena was the best colonial city Ive been to. I guess there are a lot of cities like Cartagena in Colombia, though not many are as safe, and road travel freaks me out a bit. However, a friend of mine just took a bus from Santa Marta to Medellin, and is on his way to Bogota. My frined Thomas has been to Sevilla 4 times, he says Cartagena is much more beautiful. This beach town is nice, wait till you see the photos. Its not colonial at all, but still very nice.
